Name of article:
RUSSIAN PARAMETRIC ADJECTIVES: ANTHROPOCENTRICITY OF SEMANTICS AND CAUSATIVE POTENTIAL
The article discusses the features of the functioning of Russian parametric adjectives such as big – small, tall – short or high – low, deep – shallow, etc. The basis of the lexical interpretation in these antonymic pairs is the opposition big – small. The interpretation component is associated with the idea of correlating the value of these adjectives with a person, for example, his body, his perception, sensations and evaluation. As part of complex syntactic constructions of various types, parametric adjectives are actively involved in the formation of relations of conditionality, in particular, causative one.
