Abstracts:

The article analyses the Avar gender paroemiological units with complex words which form these paroemiological images having predicate functions and determine negative traits of masculine gender. The characterized lexical components which are formed by adding the zero affixation with the second component, generally are used in paroemiological units and they have semantically occasional character.

Part of components – complex words is formed according to the model «genetivecase of the noun + nominative case of the noun». These lexical components have the predicative characterizing role describing negative traits of a person. The characterized lexical components – complex words are used symbolically as cultural signs of the language and are associated with different body, zoomorphic, floral and objective culture codes. The usage of antonymic opposition leads to the formation of comparative semantic relations. The actualization of one trait of a person leads to deactualisation of another. The part of such gender paroemiological units is built on the basis of alogism and have vivid national and cultural connotations.
