Abstracts:
The article presents the essential characteristic of G. Volkov’s scientific school in the Republic of Mari El. It characterizes G. Volkov’s contribution to the formation of the ethno-pedagogical school in the Republic, it analyzes the materials of his successors’ interviewing (S. I. Fomina, P. A. Apakaev, S. N. Fedorova) on the meetings with their teacher, it reveals the main directions of research works of ethno-pedagogists of the Republic (the use of ecological traditions of Mari people in younger schoolchildren’s education, historical-pedagogical and ethno-pedagogical bases of democratization of education in the Mari region, the formation of ethno-cultural competence of future teachers).
