Abstracts:
The article is devoted to the problems of pupils’ speech development when studying synonyms at the lesson of the native (Udmurt) language. Synonyms provide the speech with emotionally expressive colouring, help to avoid repetition in the utterance; they are also used for specification, contrasting, explanations and so on [4, p. 21–24], both in oral and written versions. Training of skills in the use of synonyms is carried out on the basis of linguistic, pre-verbal and verbal exercises. The exercises represent both the analysis of ready texts and drawing up sentences and compositions.
