Abstracts:
The article discusses the competencies necessary for a successful professional activity of a teacher who implements extracurricular programmes in the field of arts within the framework of the current reform of the educational system at children’s art school.
The study analyzes the legislative basis for the reform of educational system of children’s art schools and educational programmes in particular.
The author considers the new competencies of art school teachers required to implement pre-professional and general educational programmes. For the first time the paper studies the differentiation in competencies of a teacher depending on the objectives of an educational programme.
The article analyzes some problems of contemporary art education: the preservation of traditions, the best principles of educational systems of the masters of Russian Art School, as well as the need to implement modern technologies and approaches in the educational process.
