Abstracts:
The paper considers the issues of competitive-play activity in volleyball and other play situations that occur in the game of volleyball, the requirements for improving competition results, the essential characteristics and abilities for players. The authors believe that to improve the efficiency in the competitive-play activity qualified volleyball players must possess the ability to switch. According to the authors, the analysis of competitive-play activity will provide the ability to switch, which will improve the competition results. The authors give the developed classification of switchings in volleyball, systematized according to such criteria as the game in standard, standard-predictable and non-standard situations; defensive play and attacking play: techniques; actions with the ball and without it.
