Abstracts:
The article is devoted to the analysis of different types of toponyms within the phraseological units of the Tatar and French languages. The author reveals the important events in the historical and cultural chronicle of the Tatar and French people on the example of phraseological units, by means of toponyms of lacunar and functionally limited character. The given examples show that in the Tatar phraseological units there are toponyms which are peripheral regarding Kazan being a cultural and historical capital of the Tatars. They are Bulgar, Bukhara, Siberia. The reference to the hydronym of Idel (Volga) is quite often. In the French phraseological units the mentioning of Paris is often and the mentioning of hydronyms is seldom.
