Abstracts:
The history of pre-October period Chuvash literary language is divided into 2 periods in the Chuvash linguistics. They are the old written (pre-Yakovlev) period and Yakovlev period. The article specifies the chronological limits of these periods. The authors analyse the translations of the main representatives of the Chuvash old written period E. I. Rozhansky, V. P. Vishnevsky, N. I. Zolotnitsky considering the historical conditions and the evaluation of their activity by the famous Chuvash linguists in the context of some linguistic peculiarities.
