Abstracts:
The article reveals the events preceding the sports selection at the stage of initial training of weight-lifters. These events include the visual assessment of body features of children, the analysis of their individual medical record, the interview with a school doctor, Physical Training teachers, children and their parents. The article also presents the results of correlation analysis of physical development and physical fitness identified in sports selection and the competitive results shown by the weight-lifters after one or two years of training at the stage of initial training. The authors provide their estimation scale of physical development and physical fitness of eleven-year weight-lifters/ the scale was developed by the authors and based on the results of the experimental study.
