The article considers the essence of creative artistic abilities from the point of psychological view of creative activity as the most important characteristic of personality and in the context of children’s psychology; reveals the creative artistic abilities which are essential for art school students; specifies their structure with respect to intellectual abilities; presents the results of the study devoted to the consideration of the development of creative artistic abilities at art school students; shows the problems in teachers’ activity on the formation and development of creative artistic abilities at students.
