CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FRONT-RETRACTED VOWEL PHONEMES IN THE TRANSURALS DIALECTS OF THE CHUVASH LANGUAGE
The article considers the peculiarities of articulation of the front-retracted vowel pho-nemes of the Transurals dialects of the Chuvash language (ö, е(э), ә, ĕ, ĕо, ÿ, и), their modifications asso-ciated with both positional dependence as well as language contact. When characterizing the phonemes mentioned, the author provides the examples obtained during folk and dialectological expeditions on researching the language, folklore, culture and way of life of the Chuvash people living in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
