Name of article:FEATURES OF ACCUMULATION OF HEAVY METALS INULA HELENIUM L. IN THE CONDITIONS OF MODERATE TECHNOGENIC POLLUTION
Keywords:Inula helenium L., heavy metals, technogenic pollution, biological accumulation.
Abstracts:The article presents the results of the analysis of the content of heavy metals in the phytomass of Inula helenium L. The accumulation of copper, cadmium and lead in elevated phytomass is higher than in rhizomes and roots. The accumulation of copper and zinc in phytomass of Inula helenium L. increases on subacidic and neutral soils. The main source of pollution of elevated phytomass with lead is aerial contamination. The specific feature of Inula helenium L. is cadmium superaccumulation in elevated phytomass. On soils with weak and moderate pollution with heavy metals of a rhizome with roots of Inula helenium L. accumulate copper, zinc, lead and cadmium in much smaller degree, than elevated phytomass, but it is within maximum concentration limit. The Kabardino-Balkaria Republic can be considered an advantageous territory for preparation of environmentally safe raw materials of Inula helenium L.
