Abstracts:
This article presents a brief review of the letters of the orientalist, teacher and educator N. I. Ilminsky. The letters reflect N. I. Ilminsky’s work on the creation of the translated literature for schoolchildren of the non-Russian nations of Russia and for Church services in non-Russian congrega-tions. These thoughtful letters of various sizes cover a wide range of missionary and teaching interests of the educator, the results of his efforts and initiatives on the organization of public schools and churches, the difficulties in translation of the doctrinal and educational books into the languages of the peoples of the Volga region, the Transurals and East of Russia.
