THE SOUNDS OF THE EARTH AND THE SKY ARE HEARD: A. MITTOV'S CREATIVITY AS COMPREHENSION OF METAPHYSICAL ENTITIES
Some issues pertaining to the Chuvash national artist Anatoly Mittov’s works dealing with his comprehension of the metaphysical via the moments of existence are considered, the part of miniatures throwing light on the spiritual experience of the creator is analyzed. As the painter and the graphic artist, the author of numerous prosaic miniatures, the creator of his own innovative style, based on the deep national traditions, grasping their essence, he discovered his ability of transcendental thinking – the one leading beyond the ideas about the man, the universe. The works created by him are full of mystery, they are symbolic, and meaningful. The present article is of interdisciplinary character, it is at the intersection of literature, philosophy, art studies. It is devoted to the problem of understanding of the depths of Anatoly Mittov’s creativity through interpretation of some of his prose miniatures as metaphysical representation space, and is viewed in the context of philosophy and the traditional Chuvash worldview. The problem of the artist’s interaction with the metaphysical world is very complex and ambiguous, for this reason some judgments put forward by us may be controversial and require further research.
