Abstracts:
The article makes an attempt to interpret and classify the Udmurt texts of various genres and contents as the origins of the Udmurt literature. These texts were translated from Russian and Old Russian by V. A. Islentyev in collaboration with his consultants and assistants and then included in schoolbooks to teach first Udmurt students of Elabuga district in Vyatka region. However, the Udmurt philological science has not yet come to the objective evaluation of the heritage from literary point of view.
