EVALUATIVE POTENTIAL OF THE OPPOSITION ‘HOT – COLD’ (AS EXEMPLIFIED IN THE RUSSIAN AND TATAR LANGUAGES)
The article presents the results of the semantic research of the axiological binary opposition ‘hot – cold’, describes the peculiarities of its components in the Russian language with some comparison with the Tatar language of the Turkic group. The authors substantiate the idea that the components of the opposition under consideration reflect the phenomena of physical, sensual spheres as well as the phenomena of emotional sphere in the languages discussed.
