Abstracts:
The Bashkir nicknames are divided into root and derivative according to their morphemic structure. During the analysis of the factual material the author established that derivative nicknames dominate in the Bashkir language. It should be noted that the nickname can be considered simple only nominally as the present analysis mainly involves the synchronous state of the lexical units.The study showed that in the Bashkir language the most productive way of word formation besides affixation is the addition of word stems. The modern Russian language to some extent influenced the appearance of nicknames in the Bashkir language. The formation of these nicknames has been considered separately.
