Abstracts:The article examines zoonymic phytonyms of the Yakut and Khakass languages which represent the national and cultural characteristics of the people in order to identify the structural models of the formation of phytonyms. Phytonymic vocabulary represents a special layer of vocabulary of any language and is an integral part of linguistic culture, reflecting the peculiarities of the development of the history of the people. In this paper we determine the most productive structural models for the formation of plant nominations with zoonymic component, and also determine the role of somatisms in the composition of phytonyms of the languages under consideration. The relevance of the work is determined by the need for a systematic study of the structural features of the phytonymic vocabulary of the Yakut language. The material of the research work is selected from various lexicographic sources extracted by continuous sampling from authentic linguistic, dialectological, thematic and etymological dictionaries. The work also contains language material collected during expeditionary trips to the regions of Yakutia. The article identifies the main zoonymic components that take part in the formation of phytonyms in the Yakut language: boro ‘a wolf’, sylgy ‘a horse’, ki:s ‘a sable’, yt ‘a dog’, ynakh ‘a cow’, etc. In Khakass: aba ‘a bear’, ki:k ‘a deer’, adai ‘a dog’, inek ‘a cow’, pur ‘a wolf’, khoy ‘a sheep’, etc. The most productive structural model in the Yakut and Khakass languages is also determined. Moreover, the study establishes various kinds of stable associative connections characteristic of zoonymic phytonyms containing somatisms.
