Name of article:TRAINING OF FUTURE PHYSICS TEACHERS TO CONDUCT ENGAGING EXPERIMENTS AT SCHOOL
Keywords:physics, engaging experimental task, experiment, future teacher, mentoring
Abstracts:Methods of teaching physics at school require rethinking from the standpoint of strengthening the role of experimental activities. In this regard, there is a need to train future Physics teachers who are ready to implement experiments, including entertaining experiments. The purpose of the article is to study the conditions for the formation of future Physics teachers’ readiness to conduct entertaining experiments in the process of their work with schoolchildren. The authors propose to use engaging experimental tasks when training future physics teachers with the involvement of students of different years, using mentoring. The article describes the activities of senior student mentors. As experimental material, we used observation results and presented solutions to tasks in the “Physics in a Suitcase” competition by future Physics teachers studying in their first and final year, as well as the results of the surveys of competition participants using content analysis. The article provides examples of experimental tasks. Based on the study, the authors conclude that the use of entertaining physics experiments based on theo-retical knowledge in the process of training of future Physics teachers with the involvement of senior stu-dent mentors has a positive impact on the professional training of students.
