Name of article:WAYS OF NOMINATION OF FEMALES BY THEIR OCCUPATION IN MODERN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE
Keywords:

Abstracts:

The article discusses the analytical and synthetic ways of nomination of females in modern Russian language by their occupation, identifies grammatical and semantic factors that determine the choice of one or another way, and discusses the results of a sociological study on the attitude of speakers to the possibility of linguistic expressions of the gender attribution of the figure to the female gender and the use of feminitives in speech. For the processing of the data received in the course of the questioning of the respondents on the Google Form and the materials of the academic and Corpus grammar of the Russian language the following methods were used: statistical, absolute and relative values, collation; analysis, descriptive method. The first part of the article characterizes the features of the analytical (at the syntactic level) and synthetic (within the word-feminitive) nomination of female figures. Normative method in the modern Russian language is the analytical method, which involves the use of a neutral form of the masculine (not common) gender. The second part of the study presents a detailed analysis of the results of a survey 140 respondents about their attitude to the use of feminitives in speech. Age differentiation was revealed in the choice of methods for naming female figures. Young people at the age of 14 to 23, though they point out the unpleasantness of feminitive words, more often advocate the synthetic way of nomination, including giving the traditionally colloquial feminitives with the format -sha positive connotations. The normative analytical variant is preferred by both young and middle-aged and older respondents. At the same time more than one third of all the respondents admit the possibility of using the synthetic way, more than 80% of the respondents of all the ages distinguish between the traditional and the new feminitives. The discovery of personal attitude towards the use of feminitive words and the preferred ways of feminine nomination by profession and occupation depending on age allows us to specify the present state of affairs in the sphere of linguistic expression of gender.
