Abstracts:

The article presents the results of the study of the problem of determining the effectiveness of teaching, measuring and assessing the subject achievements of students. In order to effectively organize assessment activities, the author proposes a holistic and objective assessment, including measurement and evaluation of the quality of mastering declarative and procedural information. As a tool for its implementation, there is proposed a model for assessing students’ learning achievements, based on theoretical and practical studies of the functionality of the knowledge formation process. The proposed model is theoretically justified basing on the analysis modern scientific approaches to the essence and didactic potential of the process of formation. Using the latest scientific achievements, the author describes the composition and structural organization of the knowledge formation process. A system for measuring the quality of formation in the set of levels and criteria of forming knowledge of declarative and procedural character is proposed. The main criteria for the formation of knowledge are specified, criteria for the formation of knowledge at the level of functionality are introduced into the criteria system. The primary results of the approbation of the proposed model, which was used to assess the achieved learning outcomes in history, historical subjects of choice, and social studies, are presented. The assessment procedures were carried out on the basis of the proposed criteria and levels of knowledge formation. The results of the measurement procedures confirmed the fact of a sufficiently high efficiency of the acquisition of declarative knowledge, revealed the dynamics of a decrease in the effectiveness of the formation of procedural knowledge and further knowledge of a functional nature.
