Abstracts:

The purpose of the work was to clarify the essential and substantive characteristics of professional and applied physical training (PAPT) of modern military personnel. Based on the analysis and generalization of program and regulatory documents, scientific and methodological literature and authors’ pedagogical experience, the article presents the authors’ understanding of the target orientation of the PAPT of modern military personnel on the formation of physical and mental readiness for military service activities is formulated. The achievement of this goal is ensured through the solution of four interrelated tasks: development of professionally significant physical and mental qualities; formation and improvement of applied motor skills and abilities; improvement of the functional stability of the body to the content and conditions of professional activity; knowledge and skills of successful mastering of the practical section of the PAPT. The main means of PAPT are applied physical exercises and elements of individual sports; applied sports, auxiliary means; natural healing forces of nature and hygienic factors. The criteria and indicators for measuring and evaluating the results of the PAPT are regulated by the “Manual on Physical Training in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”.
