Abstracts:

The article considers the importance of an interdisciplinary project in the process of formation of knowledge, skills, and proficiency of students of secondary vocational education in a foreign language professionally oriented vocabulary. The interdisciplinary project involves the coordinated presentation of educational material in Russian in the course of the profession studied by students within the framework of special disciplines and educational material related to mastering the professionally oriented vocabulary of a foreign language. The difficulty in mastering a foreign language professionally oriented vocabulary by students of secondary vocational education is associated with a number of problems, among which are the following: students’ poor command of a foreign language in general, low level of motivation to master the language, insufficient level of knowledge in the use of special terminology related to the future profession. The solution of these problems is possible within the framework of an interdisciplinary project implemented in the process of teaching a foreign language professionally oriented vocabulary to students of secondary vocational education. To the greatest extent, interdisciplinarity in training is revealed through the project method. It is the project method that allows students not only to integrate knowledge from the field of special disciplines into foreign language communication activities, but also to improve their knowledge and understanding of professional vocabulary in Russian. On the example of the vocation “Automobile Mechanic”, the article offers a fragment of the project illustrating the interdisciplinarity in teaching a foreign language professionally oriented vocabulary to students of secondary vocational education.
