Abstracts:

In the system of folklore genres, a special place is given to the genre forms that retain their relevance in modern culture. This paper dwells upon the study of the current form of existence of folklore genres – a riddle. The work reveals the peculiarity of riddles recorded in various regions of Krasnodar Krai in the 70–90s of the 20th century. The authors claim that the formation of the folklore language is based on the picture of the world which reflects certain mental attitudes. In the folklore discourse the world-modeling potentials of a language are particularly clearly manifested. The thesaurus of Kuban riddles is connected with the structure of the mythopoetic picture of the world reflected in the folklore of Kuban.This paper describes the world-modeling function on the basis of the folk paremia: a small non-lyric genre of riddles is considered in a comparative aspect – the comparative-typological method served as the research tool for this work.This method made it possible to identify similarities and differences in the riddles of the Russian and Ukrainian peoples in the specific language contamination of the dialects of Kuban, to determine their artistic and poetic specifics. The merger of the two language cultures – Russian and Ukrainian – which was particularly expressed in the creation of the Kuban dialect and which determined the specificity of the regional variants of common Russian riddles.
