Abstracts:

The modernization of Russian education and trends of international educational integration (the essence of which is mutual approach and cross fertilization) have created various opportunities for obtaining education and self-education, both in traditional system and within the framework of new educational formats, structures, methodological approaches, and paradigms. The appeal in this article to the problem of teachers’ professional development is very relevant and timely as a response to the modern requirements of civil society to the teacher’s personality and activities in the context of globalization and digitalization of education. The successful practices of organizing teachers’ professional development abroad can serve as a resource and reference point for Russian reformers of pedagogical education in the context of state educational policy.

The author highlighted a group of conceptual ideas concerning teachers’ professional development; provides the idea of selecting and implementing the best educational practices of teachers’ professional development abroad employing the benchmarking technology. The application of benchmarking technology is substantiated through the successful experience of its implementation in European universities. The article identifies the conditions that exist and that need to be created for successful benchmark-project application in Russian universities. The article concludes that the study of modern ideas and successful practices of teachers’ professional development abroad with the benchmark technology will contribute to promotion of psycho-pedagogical knowledge among Russian educators in conditions of educational globalization and digitalization.
