Abstracts:

This article discusses the national linguo-cultural distinctions of Arab students studying in Kazan universities; studies the knowledge of the Russian speech etiquette by Arab students in comparison with their knowledge of the Arab speech etiquette; identifies the distinctive features in the sustainable use of the cliche phrases in the Russian speech etiquette by foreign Arab students on the example of the simulation of the «request» intention through an online poll (questionnaire) among the students of the preparatory department. The relevance of the study is conditioned by foreign students’ need of learning the Russian speech etiquette to communicate with lecturers and students in an educational environment, and to avoid embarrassing situations and misunderstandings. Lecturers also need to know the basics of a foreign speech etiquette and behavior to correctly interpret them. In general, this stage of the study explores some specific and universal forms of the two cultures. The author conducted the survey to examine cultural and ethnic features of speech etiquette, the way foreign students compose sentences, their knowledge of models (cliches) of the Russian speech etiquette. The author employed a comparative method to identify universal and specific features of the use of forms of the Russian speech etiquette by Arab students.
