| Abstracts: | The article is devoted to the problem of determining the criteria by which it would be possible to determine whether a particular person is a native speaker, as well as the issue of identifying linguistic features of people’s speech, regardless of their level of education. The relevance of the work is due to the lack of a unified approach to detecting the linguistic characteristics of native speaker’s speech. The study was carried out on material collected during interviews with applicants. As a result, the authors have identified the following linguistic markers: 1) phonetic, 2) grammatical, 3) lexical-semantic, 4) linguocultural, which not only demonstrate the level of language proficiency, but also show a person’s belonging to a certain cultural and linguistic community.
