PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH THE BELL COMPONENT IN RUSSIAN AND CHINESE LINGUOCULTURES
Keywords:
phraseological unit, linguoculture, bell, image, associative features, mentality, Russian, Chinese
Abstracts:
The article examines phraseological units in the Russian and Chinese languages, which contain the word bell – one of the frequent components in phraseology with “musical motifs”, which has great linguistic and cultural potential. The comparison of the phraseological material of the two languages made it possible to show both the common and the different in the two linguistic cultures, to identify the national specifics of phraseological units with the bell component, which is the purpose of this article. The relevance of the work is due to the prospects of linguistic and cultural studies of phraseology in general and the lack of a comparative description of this group of phraseological units in two linguistic studies. The use of methods of linguistic and cultural analysis and comparative analysis allowed the authors to conclude that the same reality can generate different associations between Russians and Chinese, have a different set of associative features due to the difference in culture and mentality of the nations. The largest number of coincidences was found in the group of phraseological units associated with speech activity, where the bell can characterize both the acoustic-physiological and the meaningful side of speech. In general, in Chinese phraseology, the figurative component of the semantics of phraseological units with the bell component is wider than in Russian: the lexeme can act as a symbol of wealth, real art, love, intelligence and old age.
