Abstracts:

The article focuses on the problem of continuity of education in the school-university system of continuous education. This problem is analyzed using the example of the study of Russian literature, since it is literature, being a unique artistic model of society and at the same time an intercultural space, that allows to lay ideological and moral foundations in students at school, and at a university to develop the acquired knowledge in close connection with professional specialization. The article shows what role literature can play in university education in non-philological areas of training. In addition, emphasis is placed on the role of the discipline “History of Russian Literature” in the formation of cross-disciplinary competencies among university graduates, the presence of which is one of the conditions for in-depth professionalization. Concretizing the put forward provisions about the need to continue education in literature at a university within the block of humanitarian disciplines, the authors of the article turn to the work of A. P. Chekhov in order to update and deepen the reading and life experience of students. As a result, using the example of the textbook story “Ionych,”, the continuity in the development of domestic literature in the school-university educational system is shown and its significance for the formation of the personal and professional qualities of a university graduate is determined.
