Abstracts:

The article raises the problem of preserving and improving the status of the Russian language among children and young people in Mongolia. The aim of the article is to substantiate the problem of returning the Russian language to the educational space of Mongolia. Attention is drawn to the use of socio-cultural and educational experience of the older generation of Mongolian citizens in the study of the Russian language, the need to develop socio-economic and cultural-educational ties between neighboring peoples is pointed out. It is recognized that in studying Russian as a foreign language it is necessary to be guided by the principles of voluntariness and professional necessity, to strengthen the revival of full-fledged teaching of the Russian language in schools, to appeal to the historical memory of the peoples. It is assumed that the status of Russian language can be improved through cultural and educational programs and events to support the citizens of Mongolia who speak Russian. These may include recitation contests, thematic dictations, musical and literary lounges, workshops on the history and culture of Russia. It is argued that in addition to formal prerequisites for the return of the Russian language in Mongolian schools (changes in the curriculum) it is necessary to form a steady interest in the language, including such measures as grant programs. It is necessary to improve methodological assistance to Russian teachers, develop digital educational resources, promote Russian-language content in social networks, etc. It is recognized that the problem of studying Russian in Mongolia remains acute and the refusal to use Russian creates barriers to communication between our countries in the state, social, cultural, scientific and educational spheres.
