Abstracts:

The work is devoted to the study of the concepts of “health” and “disease” in the Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures. The relevance of this study is due to the fact that the problem of maintaining human health in the modern world comes to the fore, because the health of the individual and the society is a factor that determines the level of development of civilization. Due to the deterioration of the population's health and the growing awareness among modern people of the special value of a healthy lifestyle, activities to create a culture of personal health are increasingly acquiring important sociocultural significance. Linguistics and Cultural Studies connect it with modern global problems. It is believed that only an interdisciplinary approach can solve the problem of maintaining people's health. Both foreign and Russian scientists continue to study this problem. The purpose of current research is to consider the concepts of “health”, “disease”, “doctor”, to compare their meanings and representations in the Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures. The subject of the study is the cultural and axiological significance of the concepts of “health” and “disease”. The work analyzes the definitions of the lexemes “doctor”, “health”, “disease”, taken from various sources. The study is based on comparative analysis; philosophical, medical (traditional and non-traditional, religious, folklore) texts devoted to the topic of health and disease were analyzed. The study reveals that both Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures have a common understanding of the concepts of “health” and “disease” and the same approaches to the treatment of diseases.
