Abstracts:
This paper is devoted to the analysis and study of semantic reactions of the concept “cosmos” in associative dictionaries of the Russian language. Attempts to model its associative field in the linguistic consciousness of Russians are presented. The concept is considered as a set of collective knowledge possessing linguistic expression and ethno-cultural originality. “Cosmos” as one of the most important concepts in Russian linguoculture retains a specific cultural connotation. The main attention in this paper is paid to the systemic-semantic and graphic analysis of associative reactions to the stimulus “cosmos” in three leading associative dictionaries of the Russian language. The descriptive method, statistical method, method of thematic classification and semantic interpretation of the associative field were used during the study. The associative reactions were divided into ten thematic groups and processed by means of tables and diagrams reflecting the numbers and proportions of different and single reactions in each thematic group, as well as the frequency of reactions of different thematic groups. Based on statistical data, we conducted a sequential analysis of representative and specific word-reactions, the results of which determined the structures of the associative field of the concept “cosmos”, described the core, center, near and far peripheries. The results of the analysis allow us to conclude that the associative field of the concept “cosmos” is extremely abundant and complex, this concept has long been imprinted in the linguistic consciousness of the Russian people and its image is largely stereotyped, which allows us to substantiate the uniqueness of the concept “cosmos” in Russian linguoculturalology and reflect the co-cognitive features of Russians.
