Abstracts:
The vector of the present state of future foreign language teachers’ professional training is aimed at the students’ personal and professional development. At the same time, numerous studies describe a portrait of a teacher of a new formation with a number of supra-professional competences. The article defines the concept of supra-professional competences. The most popular “soft skills” of a modern specialist are considered. The nomenclature of “soft skills” of a foreign language teacher is defined on the basis of scientometric analysis of normative acts and scientific researches. Based on a survey of pedagogical areas students, it was found that the requests and aspirations of students in the field of supra-professional competencies correspond to the personality-oriented tasks of higher education. Content analysis of the existing practices of intercultural learning allowed us to identify methods and techniques that are based on the mechanisms of students’ active involvement in the educational process and the implementation of "soft skills" of future foreign language teachers. It is concluded that the systematic use of the described methods and techniques contributes to the formation of “soft skills” of students, as well as allows to create models of educational algorithms that students can apply in their own professional and pedagogical activities. It is also noted that the totality of supra-professional competences, personal and subject-professional abilities of a future foreign language teacher is a significant indicator of the quality of professional and pedagogical activity.
