Modern geopolitical and interethnic conflicts prove the relevance of patriotic education of younger generation. Therefore, language education of the child in modern conditions takes on a special meaning, combining speech, patriotic, and moral development of children and adolescents who are ready for intercultural dialogue and cooperation.
This article considers child’s language education in the family in the conditions of Russian-Udmurt bilingualism. In order to consolidate the vocabulary and school curriculum, speech games and exercises are used in family education. The enrichment of ethno-linguistic environment promotes junior pupils’ effective speech and mental activity formation. The positive dynamics of development of vocabulary and sentences making ability shows this among pupils who do not speak or hardly speak Udmurt.
The final diagnosis of the results of the experimental work confirms our hypothesis that didactic games are an effective method of language education in family pedagogy.
