All-Russian Olympiad, English, writing, article, Barnaul City Psychological Center “Potentsial”

The article is devoted to students’ preparation for the creative letter writing in the All-Russian Olympiad in English. The authors outline the trajectory of students’ successful performing at the competition. Many students are not familiar with the format peculiarities of the creative letter different genres, some of them cannot solve the communicative task, etc. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the students’ results at the competition. In the work, a content analysis of writing assignments, which is a type of creative writing, was implemented. The research presents the tasks that help students write the article, solving the communicative task and following all the necessary requirements that contribute to a successful task completion. The research material was tested in the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Supplementary Education at Barnaul City Psychological Center “Potentsial” within the framework of the school for gifted children in the period from 2021 to 2022. The designed linguodidactic material and the suggested trajectory of participants’ teaching of the creative letter writing will contribute to the development of the system of gifted children support. The article may present interest for specialists creating workbooks devoted to the All-Russian Olympiad in English, for those who create tasks for it as well as teachers preparing students for participation in the competition.
