Abstracts:

In modern national education a significant role is given to the formation of a multilingual personality. This issue is actively discussed in the national republics of the Russian Federation, which indicates its relevance. The pedagogical community of the national republics of the Russian Federation considers the development of national education as one of the directions of successful implementation of multilingual education. Since there is still no clear definition of the concept of multilingual education, there is an ambiguous understanding of this process. By multicultural and multilingual approach, the authors mean the integration of a variety of languages and cultures into the educational process, which ensures the formation of a student’s national identity, tolerance, the need to study foreign cultures, and the development of the experience of intercultural communication by means of different languages. Based on the study of normative documents that regulate the processes of multicultural and multilingual education in the Chuvash Republic, methodological support of educational activities in preschool institutions, as well as based on the results of diagnostics of pupils and questioning of educators working in multilingual groups, the authors describe cultural and educational projects aimed to preserve native languages in the Chuvash Republic; analyze the practices of introducing a multilingual model of multicultural education in Chuvashia (on the example of preschool educational institutions); draw conclusions about the prospects for the use of multilingual learning trajectories in the educational space associated with the formation of a multilingual personality in a multicultural ethnosociety.
