The article is devoted to the study of the language personality of the modern parent in the context of the study of the distance education discourse. The authors conducted a written questionnaire poll of the parents whose children are the students of schools, gymnasiums, lyceums and cadet schools. The results of the survey manifest themselves in the 120 texts produced by the studied language personality. The analysis of the texts made it possible for the authors to assess the depth and accuracy of the reflection of a new reality for the society, related to the global changes taking place in the educational ecosystem, and thereby characterize the language personality of the modern parent, who is one of the main participants in the distance learning process. The work employs sociolinguistic methods, which are a synthesis of linguistic and sociological procedures such as remote group questioning, the method of collecting factual material, pragmatic interpretation, content analysis. The study resulted in the formulation of the definition of the concept of the discourse of distance education, the identification of the main features of the language personality and the role of the modern parent in the process of distance education.
