The article offers a detailed analysis of the material of the regional online publication “YUga.ru” on the development of esports in the Kuban. The authors analyze in detail all the positive and negative aspects of an article on esports journalism, issues of interaction between the author and the reader in such an article, various aspects of information manipulation. Special attention is paid to psychological and communicative aspects in esports journalism. It is noted that only competent writing of the text, taking into account all the factors of sports information preparation, can contribute to a positive reaction from the audience. Only by doing that, this direction can be popularized.

Despite the fact that this discipline has a huge number of fans around the world, certain uniform rules for covering esports competitions have not yet been fully developed. Each journalist decides for himself how to present information as interesting as possible, more often relying on the world experience of famous players who are engaged in streams. This is due not only to the special terminology, but also due to a specific attitude in society. In the Krasnodar Territory, esports is not widely and effectively covered. We made such conclusions after studying various online publications popular in the region.
