This article discusses some aspects of the problem of speech interaction in modern media discourse. For the analysis, media texts of various structure and purpose were used: the records of polls in the street, materials from various television and radio programs. The author describes in detail the issues of dialogue in the work of a journalist and an interviewee, the ability to listen and build a media product in accordance with this and various speech situations; considers the effectiveness of such interaction, various aspects of manipulation in journalistic creative work.

The author believes that the effectiveness of listening is largely determined by the psychological attitude of the journalist towards the interviewee. During the interview, the journalist from the very beginning should build a conversation in such a way as to stimulate the interviewee to openness and frankness, with the help of one reasoned and appropriate question to cause the desired reaction from the interviewee, so that he himself describes the event and the problems associated with this event.
