Abstracts:
The article considers the paremean genre of modern folklore – table sayings. The study was conducted on the basis of the analysis of the folklore material collected by the lecturers and students of Ogarev Mordovia State University during the field expeditions in the territory of the Republic of Mordovia. The paper describes the genre features of table sayings, determines their role in arranging a collective meal, provides the classification according to a thematic principle. The author has established that table sayings, verbally expressing the drinking process, regulate it.
