Abstracts:
The article is devoted to the holistic consideration of foreign Chuvash Studies as a scientific phenomenon. The author evaluates the achievements of the European scientists in the field of studying the Chuvash language in the aspect of new area of complex ethnological studies of Europe and the USA from the standpoint of the oriental cultures. The foreign Chuvash Studies, consisting of the Hungarian, German, Turkish, Finnish sections, have made a significant contribution to the development of scientific ideas about the Chuvash language mainly in the aspect of historical linguistics.
