RUSSIAN VERBAL BEHAVIOR IN THE CONTEXT OF EASTERN AND WESTERN CULTURES
This article examines the matters relating to the formation of communicative skills and knowledge at foreign students who come to Russia in order to study Russian. Cultural traditions determine the topic of conversation, the dos and don’ts of polite manners, etiquette rules, pace of conversation, tone, facial expressions, gestures and the context of conversation. Speech behavior results in feelings, emotions, impressions, and ultimately the formation of interpersonal relationships, mutual exchange of knowledge and interaction of interlocutors contribute not only to the movement and absorption of information, but also to obtaining language experience, studying the culture, traditions and mentality of the Russian people.
