Abstracts:
The article discusses some common and differing cultural attitudes, verbalized in Russian and Chinese proverbs that contain the bug component. The article pays special attention to the study of associative-verbal fields for the «bug» stimulus in Russian and Chinese for the correct perception of proverbs and identification of the motivation of cultural attitudes expressed in them. The paper also considers the coinciding and non-equivalent lexico-thematic groups of associates in the Russian and Chinese linguistic consciousness; conclude that the literal meaning of the proverb forms a stereotypical notion of an insect; this notion correlates with the results of an associative experiment. The meanings of paroemias serve as a base for identified cultural attitudes.
