The category of comparativity is a functional-semantic field, which in different linguistic cultures is reflected and represented using a number of grammatical and lexical means. This article discusses some of them, and also notes the semantic and stylistic features of comparisons as a way of conveying the author’s world view and expression of the individual style of the author of the work. The article presents extraordinary ways of designing comparisons in the Chuvash language (rhetorical questions and exclamations, idioms, parceled structures, detailed comparisons).
