Abstracts:
The article presents the results of the comparative analysis of the language side of multiculturalism based on the generalization of language material from the texts of the American media in 2015–2018. The authors pay particular attention to the examples of understanding of multiculturalism in the texts of modern US media as a positive phenomenon and as a phenomenon that has its negative sides. The relevance of the study is due to the interest of many scholars to the issues of the systemic structure of the language, in particular, the actualization of explicit and implicit evaluation in the framework of political discourse. In the process of analyzing mass media texts, the authors used the method of isolating keywords and phrasal unities, characteristic of this type of discourse. The study of language material allows the authors to conclude that an explicit positive evaluation of multiculturalism is represented against the background of its simultaneous negative evaluation.
