Abstracts:
The article considers the genesis of «presupposition» term in linguistics. According to the thorough analysis of theoretical sources on the above issue and the employment of various categorical framework for the description and definition of the term «presupposition», the authors concluded that logical and philosophical studies were the basis for the modern definition of this term in linguistic. Comparative approach proved that only presupposition analysis allows us to reveal the underlying component of the statement and comprehend its true idea.
