Abstracts:
The article considers the genesis of the concept «intelligentsia» and highlights the qualities of the intellectual in modern Russia, where the main concern is to promote the moral soundness of the society. Special attention is paid to scientific-technical intelligentsia that is to unite both technical and social components. The authors remark that in the terms of the existing contradiction between the needs of the country’s competitive production and lack of system of training of scientific-technical intelligentsia, innovation of the education system itself is of great importance. The role of technical universities is expanded to the necessary of formation of the future specialist as a person of culture.
