The article is devoted to the implementation of the educational process of cognitive thinking based on G. Volkov’s works which are known both in the European countries and in the Russian Federation. It focuses on the importance of the scientist’s works in terms of person’s identifying the place in this world. The author substantiates the need for understanding the cognitive thinking that contributes to developing creative activity in a person. The works of the academician are considered from the perspective of cognitive thinking of the new time. The researcher concludes that the G. Volkov had a philosophical intuition. The work is of interdisciplinary character and is at intersection of pedagogics and philosophy. It is devoted to the understanding of the depths of the scientific heritage of the scientist through the interpretation of some of his writings and statements representing the basis of ethno-pedagogics as representation of the traditional worldview of the Chuvash. The problem raised by the author of the article is ambiguous and complex, and for that reason some conclusions may be controversial and requiring further interpretation.
